GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
To facilitate the attainment of goals/targets of Malaria and NTDs using research and implementation science.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
Our objectives are to:
a. Conduct innovative and translational research in malaria, neglected tropical diseases by accelerating the attainment of pre-elimination/elimination targets from our current control phase
b. Accelerate technology transfer and national capacity researchers and health workers using innovative approaches for impact and large-scale application
c. Instigate the convergence of core tropical diseases with non-communicable diseases and one-health
d. Infuse social, geographic, economic and cultural, and modelling dimensions in the control to elimination of malaria and NTDs
e. Foster research, development and innovation for products (diagnostics, drugs, vaccines) and unique services for diseases management, control and elimination.
f. Implement programmes through competitive bids using innovative, disruptive and impactful approaches for national development toward global competitiveness
g. Facilitate advocacy and policy using research-to-policy approaches.
